This past weekend marked an important milestone in The Third Decade: Saturday marked the one year anniversary for when I became a first-time homeowner. Although I didn't move into my fixer-upper until late December, the renovation adventure began shortly after the closing. The kitchen was the first room to undergo an overhaul...unfortunately it's not quite done yet. Still, it looks a lot better than it did during the walk-through and it's actually clean and functional to boot. Hopefully there'll be enough money coming back on my tax return to help fund the completion of the room so that it'll be done a year from now. Despite living in a work-in-progress, it's so much better to have my own home and to live without a dirty roommate and thoughtless landlord and in a quietly progressive neighborhood.
